Welcome

Weybourne 1975

“Everything has already been thought and said: we can at best express it in different forms.” – Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749-1832), German poet, dramatist.

Thank you for stopping by.

On a particularly cold winter day in Norfolk, where I lived for 11 years until 2015, the great indoors beckoned and I started this simple blog. Updates were sporadic.

I found this image, a picture taken by a friend and regular travelling companion on a cold January 1970s weekend. We used his old Post Office van to drive from Great Yarmouth to Hunstanton,  North Norfolk: a place I almost remember.

I moved to Oxfordshire, close to the place I was brought up and schooled, and places where ancestors had tilled the ground and looked after cattle. Updates became even more sporadic. And through this random activity,  I had no particular purpose in creating these pages, no particular idea of communicating anything to anyone, I still do not, but from time to time it seemed right, and still seems right,  to fix some thoughts and images into a space such as this.

Thanks again for this visit.
